Have you wondered how the environment affects the health of those persons that you care for in your nursing practice? What factors make humans, across the life span, more vulnerable to poor health outcomes from environmental stressors?

In this community, risk and vulnerability are defined. Factors affecting vulnerability include biological, social, and behavioral ones. Specific vulnerable populations include embryonic and fetal development, infants, children, adolescents, pregnant women, adults, older adults, and persons with disabilities. Environmental justice and global health are introduced.
